Moderated by Andrew S. McCague, DO, Trauma and Critical Care Surgeon, Natividad Medical Center
Natividad has recently set a quality initiative to reduce hospital acquired infections. Evidence demonstrates that physicians are more likely to make permanent behavior changes when educational interventions are ongoing rather than simply one and done. This activity is a follow up to the live activity provided earlier in the month. Physicians may not know the relevant medical literature related to HAI. Physicians need to review this literature and discuss how it applies to Natividad. Physicians also need an opportunity to increase their awareness of the problem and identify ways in which they can contribute to improvements.
Desired Outcomes:
- Review journal articles related to hospital acquired infections;
- Discuss the application of this research to Natividad;
- Apply new knowledge in practice as appropriate.
