Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Awareness Leaders
Our Natividad family and the people of Monterey County that we serve are culturally rich and diverse. At Natividad, we are committed to creating an environment of inclusion and diversity that respects, affirms and leverages the unique cultures of our workforce and our community. The perspectives and ideas of our workforce make us stronger and lead to a better work environment, better patient care and desired outcomes.
We will be kicking off IDEAL which stands for – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Awareness Leaders
The concepts of the program are to: Address Systemic Issues, Create Equity, Build Healthy Communities, Promote Inclusive Growth.
We have kicked off the program by having Dr. Chad Harris, Interim CEO commit to this work by becoming a signatory of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge. A unique coalition of nearly 2,000 CEOs have signed on to this commitment, agreeing to take action to cultivate environments where diverse experiences and perspectives are welcomed and where employees feel comfortable and encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion.
We strive to incorporate the four goals of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge into Natividad’s day-to-day operations:
- We will continue to make our workplaces trusting places to have complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion
- We will implement and expand unconscious bias education
- We will share best—and unsuccessful—practices
- We will create and share strategic inclusion and diversity plans with our board of directors
