Leave of Absence

  • Any leave of absence must be requested by using the Request for Leave of Absence Form.Please note that there are eligibility requirements for certain leaves i.e. being employed for a minimum of 1 year and working a minimum of 1250 hours in a 12 month period. There are also requirements when submitting the leave request i.e. physician statements.Please refer to the various links that explain the requirements and what your rights are. You may also be eligible for partial wage replacement while out on a covered leave, the details for applying for paid leaves are reference in the corresponding leave links.

 

Military Leave

The County of Monterey, in an effort to ensure that all military reservists/National Guard members are treated consistently, has prepared the Military Leave Policy (P-220).

The policy provides County employees, Human Resources and Payroll staff with guidelines on Military Leave, particularly regarding pay and benefits in connection with active and inactive military leave. Please click here for a copy of the Military Leave Procedures.
